Fairfield’s World Champion Taekwondo strives to teach its students important values which will not only help them achieve higher ranks in Taekwondo, but also will stay with them and help them their entire life. This guiding principle was clearly evident in late May, when the WCT Demo Team won bronze at the 2017 ATU National Championship held in Orlando, FL. The WCT Demo Team, consisting of 12 students, ages 6 to 21 years old, made it to the top four teams, ensuring them a place in the finals hosted by American Taekwondo United on May 27. Under the guidance of Master Kwangjin Ha and Master Gunsoo Kim, the Demo Team captured third place, earning a bronze medal and a cash prize of $500. After returning home to Fairfield, the team decided to donate their $500 cash prize to Operation Hope.
We are grateful for this donation to help feed and shelter our neighbors in need, and are honored to have been the beneficiary of such a generous and special prize. Thank you to the students as well as Master Kwangjin Ha and Master Gunsoo Kim for helping those most in need in our community, and congratulations on your impressive win!
